For the third year in a row, we invite you to visit our Festival of Slavic Cultures and celebrate with us for the whole day! The festival is held with the support of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the city of Moscow and the non-profit organization Cultural centre of the Library for foreign literature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, the festival is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Forum of Slavic Cultures<\/strong>, which brings together all the Slavic countries and also represents their culture, science, art, and artistic heritage as part of the global cultural wealth. The Forum promotes the development of international cooperation, strengthens cultural ties between all nations around the world, and provides a bright and clear presentation of the history and culture of Slavs. Within its framework, many initiatives were proposed, among them the series \u2018100 Slavic novels\u2019 <\/strong>and ‘The \u017diva award’ <\/strong>for the best Slavic museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Andreja Rihter<\/strong>, the director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures,<\/strong>will share her invaluable experience. It is noteworthy that the first representative office of the Forum was opened in the Library for Foreign Literature in December 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the day, meetings with well-known authors and cultural figures of the Slavic world, lectures, concerts, workshops, language classes, and public readings will be held on all venues of the library. Famous Russian authors Elena Chizhova, Andrey Astvatsaturov, Olga Slavnikova<\/strong> and Yury Nechiporenko <\/strong>will be among our guests. Foreign writers Zuzana Palovi\u0107<\/strong> and Gabriela Bereghazyova<\/strong> will present the book ‘Slovakia – the legend of the linden’, which presents the history of this wonderful country. Public readings are traditionally held on this day.
